Therapeutic
Massage
Therapeutic
massage involves the manipulation of the soft tissue structures
of the body in order to prevent and alleviate pain, discomfort,
muscle spasm, and stress and to promote overall health and wellness.
A massage therapy session may entail holding, causing movement
of soft tissue, and/or applying pressure to the body. Massage
therapy improves the functioning of the muscular, skeletal, circulatory,
lymphatic, and nervous systems. Massage therapy also improves
the rate at which the body recovers from injury and illness. There
are numerous varieties and techniques that are individual to the
therapist including: Deep Tissue Massage, Sports Massage, Trigger
Point Therapy, Neuromuscular Massage, Acupressure, Lymphatic Drainage
and Myofascial Release.

CranioSacral
Therapy
CranioSacral Therapy is a light-touch therapy
that addresses the system of membranes and fluid that surround
and protect the brain and spinal cord. The therapist monitors
the rhythm of the CranioSacral system to detect potential restrictions
and imbalances. The therapist uses very delicate manual techniques
to address any problem areas and relieve undue pressure of the
brain and spinal cord. CranioSacral Therapy can help release the
effects of stress on the central nervous system, enhancing the
body's overall performance and health. CranioSacral Therapy may
be performed on a person fully clothed.

Reiki
Reiki
(pronounced ray-key) is a Japanese healing art that comes from a
word representing universal life energy. The Reiki energy flows
through the therapist and exits through the hands, being directed
into the body or energy field of the recipient. Reiki utilizes specific
techniques for restoring and balancing that natural life force energy
within the body. It is a holistic and natural energy healing system
that integrates the body, mind and spirit. Reiki is a very subtle
healing art and may be done through clothing and without any contact
between therapist and client.

Healing
Touch
Healing Touch is an energetic method of bodywork
similar to Reiki in the sense that it deals with universal energy.
It is based of the principle that the human energy field extends
beyond the skin and that disease is seen as a condition of energy
imbalance or blocked energy flow. The therapist uses their hands
as sensors to locate restrictions in the energy that correspond
with problems in the physical body. Assessment is done by passing
the hands over the body and consciously and actively transferring
energy into the recipient. The hands are used to direct and focus
the energy. This work may involve hands-on contact or may be done
with no contact with the physical body.

Reflexology
Originally
known as reflex zone therapy, reflexology is a holistic healing
method which involves pressure and massage of reflex points found
on the feet, hands, and ears. These body parts represent a microcosm
of the body, with all organs, glands and other body parts laid along
ten energy zones which end at the feet, hands and ears. Vital energy
circulates throughout the body and travels along these energy zones.
If this energy becomes blocked, the part of the body relating to
the blockage is affected. The pressure and massage techniques of
reflexology are designed to dissipate these energy blocks. Through
stimulation of the circulatory and lymphatic systems, and by encouraging
the release of toxins, reflexology promotes the body to heal itself.
Reflexology is also an extremely effective therapy in cases of stress,
tension and tiredness, in turn acting as a preventive measure against
ill health.

Myofascial
Release
This
therapy addresses the fascial layer which is found just beneath
the skin's surface and envelopes all the muscles and organs of the
body. Fascia allows the structures to slide across each other so
that the body can move freely. When adhesions develop in this membranous
layer, due to injury, surgery, etc., restrictions and pain can be
the result. Myofascial Release uses a number of techniques to free
up the restrictions and help the body return to its more natural
state of health.

Myoneural
Therapy
Myoneural Therapy works intricately and deeply
using localized, muscle specific manipulation to release nerves
or vessels that can become pinched or trapped by tight muscles.
There are specialized techniques to treat certain conditions i.e.
pain localized within the mouth.
